Thank you for all the donations to One Nation and thanks to Arlene Duenckel who took the supplies to the One Nation organization for students to use for this Fall term. We received 10 filled backpacks, 19 empty backpacks and 18 full bags of school supplies. Great Job!

Feed My Starving Children: Please take a minute to sign up to pack meals at our MobilePack on August 21st & 22nd!  Use the link https://give.fmsc.org/cosprings to reach the Colorado Springs MobilePack webpage. Click on the blue “Volunteer” button. Next, click the blue box entitled "Enter Private Registration Code” enter “FMSC" and click “Unlock”.  The website will guide you to login or create a FMSC account, choose your group type/name, and then choose your volunteer shift(s). Available volunteer packing shifts include Friday, August 21: 12:00pm-2:00pm; 3:00pm-5:00pm, and 6:00pm-8:00pm and Saturday, August 22: 8:30am-10:30am; 11:30-1:30pm, and 2:30pm-4:30pm.  Volunteers must be at least 5 years old to participate.  If you need any help registering, please email Laurie Edwards.

GROUPS & BIBLE STUDIES

BOOK REVIEW GROUP: We will meet on Thursday, August 20th at 1:00pm and the book we are reading for August is “100 Rules for Living to 100” by Dick Van Dyke.

BREW CREW: We will meet on Monday, August 10th at 6:00pm. We will meet at the Bristol Brewing located at the old Ivywild Highschool. You can contact Allen Currier for more information.

BUNCO: This is a game of dice and fellowship. We meet on the first Friday of the month at 7:00pm in the Narthex area. Contact Curtis Shiflet for more information.

COLLEGE KIDS CORRESPONCE: If you have a student or grandchild in college and think they would benefit from regular cards of encouragement, please give Tasha your student’s mailing information at tasha@bethelhome.church or call 719-570-9800.

COMFORT MAKERS: Bethel’s quilting group meets on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesday of each month from 9:00am – noon in the Christ Center. Throughout the year they create quilts to donate to Lutheran World Relief, and the quilts are used around the world for those who are in need. If you can tie knots and enjoy sewing, join us by calling Gisela Petersen.

DINING OUT GROUP: We will meet on Monday, August 24th at the Airplane Restaurant, 1665 Newport Rd, 80916. Contact Allen Currier for more information.

GEAR GRINDERS: We will be meeting on Saturday, September 19th from 8:00am – 12:00pm on the West parking lot. Contact Steve Skarin for more information.

GIFTS FROM THE HEART: We enjoy sharing the love of Christ with others by preparing and donating gifts. Our gift-giving includes specially prepared baby gifts for newborns at Bethel, recycling stuffed animals for foster children, three different types of gift bags handed out to the homeless, meals for shut-ins or families in distress, and household goods for displaced veterans. GIRL SCOUTS: We meet every other Thursday at 6:00pm in the Youth Room. Contact Kassandra at 719-200-0084 for more information.

MEN’S CHALLENGE GROUP: We meet at 10:00am on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays at Bethel. We are a group of men wanting to advance God’s Kingdom. Hear God lead you. Glorify Him. If you want to know more, contact John Wilson.

MEN’S UP AND ADAM: This men’s group meets at Bethel for Bible Study every Wednesday morning at 6:30am. Please join by emailing Pastor Dan at pastordan@bethelhome.church.

MERCY’S GATE THURSDAY LUNCH GROUP: This group is one of Bethel’s Outreach Ministries that will provide breakfast and lunch for Mercy’s Gate clients on the last Thursday of each month.

PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP: If you are interested in the Photo Group, please contact Sarah Wulfsberg. This group is for people from novice to experienced.

STEPHEN MINISTRY: Stephen Ministers don’t just provide care for people experiencing a major crisis. They also provide care and support for people weighed down by the little things in life. If you are feeling down, lonely, stressed or discouraged, you could benefit from the care, support and encouragement of a Stephen Minister. It’s free. It’s confidential. And it will really make a difference in your life! To find out more, talk with one of our Pastors. Our Stephen Ministers are ready to care for you!

STITCHED WITH LOVE: This ministry provides an opportunity for you to make and donate crocheted or knitted items for infants and children. We also make a variety of handmade items throughout the year for donation to foster children through Cases of Love, infants through Life Network, winter scarves for the homeless, etc. Please feel free to reach out to Linda Thede if you are interested in participating or have questions.

VARIETY DANCE: Variety Dance meets each Saturday afternoon in the Christ Center. The 2:30pm class for the novice dancer is led by Gloria Pascua and the 4:00pm class for the beginner dancer is led by Sharon Oldfield.
